Renowned Spanish investor Victor Alvargonzález has joined Spanish fund selection group Tressis as its new CIO.
The co-founder of Profim, one of Spain's first independent advisory and fund selection groups, left his firm in September, as reported by Citywire Global.
His departure coincided with that of Angel de Molina, Tressis' former head of fund selection who has since joined Santander as a member of their Global Market Intelligence team.
In his new role De Molina is in charge of finding new products for the Spanish giant's asset managment division and trying to improve the efficiency of existing ones.
Following De Molina's exit Javier Monjardín took over as Tressis' head of fund selection.
The appointment of Alvargonzález is part of the Tressis' growth plan as it aims to target investors with cash portfolios within the €120,000 and €2 million bracket.
In 1996, Alvargonzález founded Profim which is regarded as a pioneer in open architecture wealth management in Spain.
