Skagen hires Goldman Sachs AM analyst for global equity team

Norwegian asset managers Skagen have hired an analyst from Goldman Sach Asset Management’s equity team.

Knut Gezelius will join the group as a portfolio manager in May this year, having acted as a buy-side analyst for GSAM’s global and European equity funds.

Gezelius also previously served as a senior lead analyst at the Houston-based Entergy Corporation. Prior to this he worked as a Senior Consultant at Applied Value Group, a professional services and investment group based in Boston.

The hire follows the announcement in January that Johan Swahn will join the group in March, working alongside Kristian Falnes, Søren Milo Christensen and Chris Tommy Simonsen on the €5.6 billion Skagen Global fund.

The Stavanger-based group had started the recruitment process last year and had posted a series of adverts for senior, junior and trainee managers in October.
