Man Group has hired Goldman Sachs’ former head of proprietary trading as a senior portfolio manager within its investment arm, GLG Partners.
Pierre-Henri Flamand is set to join the alternative investment firm in June of this year.
He brings with him 20 years of market experience to the London-based company, 15 of which were spent with Goldman Sachs.
In his most recent role, Flamand had run his own hedge fund boutique, Edoma Capital Partners, which was founded on a Europe-focused, event driven investment strategy.
Upon joining the firm, Flamand will focus on a global catalyst-driven strategy to invest across the capital structure.
Commenting on the hire, Manny Roman, CEO of Man Group, said: ‘I have known and worked with Pierre-Henri for nearly 20 years, he is a professional of the highest calibre and I look forward to his contribution to the firm.’
The appointment of Flamand marks the second hire in quick succession for GLG Partners. Credit specialist Andy Li joined the company at the end of April to work within its bonds team.
