Franklin Templeton has appointed David Zahn as head of European fixed income and charged him with expanding its operations in the region, the company has announced.
The London-based investor, who has been with Franklin Templeton since 2006 and co-runs three bond funds for the firm, assumed his new role on April 15.
One of the main aspects of his new position will see Zahn charged with increasing the US asset management firm’s operations in the European fixed income market.
On a day-to-day basis, Zahn will work with the nine dedicated members of the European fixed income team based in London as well as four investment professionals based at Franklin Templeton’s headquarters in San Mateo, California.
Zahn will retain his existing portfolio management positions despite assuming the new role. This will see him act as co-manager alongside John Beck on the Templeton Euro Government Bond, Templeton Global Aggregate Bond and Templeton Strategic Bond funds.
