Workshop based sessions in small groups will be taking place with fund managers during the course of the morning. You will be provided with a personalised agenda detailing your individual schedule.

The event will also feature an interactive session with leading fund managers, including Tikehau Investment Management’s Jean-Marc Delfieux as well as Muzinich & Co’s Warren Hyland, who will discuss the development of European and EM credit markets, prospects for investors, and reveal strategies to tap opportunities in this asset class.

Leon Grenyer, Morgan Stanley Investment Management
High Yield Fixed Income

Leon Grenyer is the Head of the European High Yield fixed income team, a member of the Global High Yield senior strategy team and a senior member of the Global Credit team at Morgan Stanley. The fund Leon Grenyer will present seeks to provide an attractive rate of return through investments worldwide in lower rated and unrated fixed income securities.

UBS (Lux) Equity SICAV - Emerging Markets High Dividend

The UBS (Lux) Equity SICAV - Emerging Markets High Dividend Fund invests globally in high quality emerging markets companies that deliver high and sustainable dividends.

It offers a diversified portfolio of stocks as well as broad country, currency and sector allocations. Justin Wells will explain the fund's strategy of investing in high quality companies that are able to maintain high and sustainable dividend payments and offer strong fundamentals.

European Equities

In this workshop Niall Gallagher, Investment Director at GAM, will present the GAM Star European Equity EUR Acc and the GAM Star Continental European Equity EUR Acc funds.

The funds’ aim are to achieve long-term capital appreciation through investing primarily in quoted equity and equity related securities listed on recognised exchanges within the EU issued by companies.

Focussed on companies with good growth prospects, earning a high return on capital employed, with robust balance sheets and generating high free cash-flows, the funds’ net asset values continue to be invested in consumer, industrial, healthcare and technology stocks.

Gabrielle Gourgey, investment officer and institutional equity portfolio manager of MFS Investment Management will answer in her workshop the question of whether investors should be allocating assets to European equities in these uncertain times of the European sovereign debt crisis?

Covering MFS European equities fund offerings (MFS Meridian Funds- European Smaller Companies Fund, MFS Meridian Funds- European Value Fund, MFS Meridian Funds- European Research Fund, MFS Meridian Funds- UK Equity Fund), Gabrielle will explain the benefits of taking a longer term view in European equities despite the European sovereign debt crisis.

Robert Anstey, Hermes Fund Managers
Hermes US Small & Mid Cap fund

The Hermes US Small & Mid Cap Equity Fund managed by Robert Anstey, Head of the Hermes’ US small and mid-cap strategy, takes a long-term investment approach, with an average holding period of three to five years. The fund seeks to invest in companies with a market capitalisation of US$200m to US$5billion. With a strong focus on risk, the fund’s objective is to generate outperformance with relatively low risk for this asset class.

Opportunities and risks in today’s credit environment

Parisian investment house Tikehau Investment Management will provide the European perspective as fund manager Jean-Marc Delfieux dissects the market from high yield to cross-over credits.

Over a 17-year career Delfieux has run Société Générale’s euroland and South African government debt desks as well as French private bank HR Gestion’s fixed income team.

Joining Delfieux in the debate will be emerging market debt manager Warren Hyland.  With Schroders for over a decade, Hyland recently joined corporate credit specialists Muzinich & Co. to build out is EMD offering. Addressing volatility and liquidity issues Hyland will explain why EM corporate bonds are becoming an ever more important factor in asset allocation decisions.
